Drawn Thread

Someone answered my wish and here is a picture of Diane’s tablecloth.  Beautiful work.

Drawn Thread

Work in progress.  How a room goes quiet when concentration hits.  All those who participated in this one enjoyed perfecting their skills on this project.  Some day they may even share some photos of the finished projects.  Hint Hint

We would like to thank Ana-Marie Kramer who taught this class.  Thank you for your time, patience, and enthusiasm while passing on some of your skill to us.  Here are a few more shots of the work in progress.

Drawn Thread

September 2016 was the beginning of our drawn thread work. Here is an example that was shown to us by the instructor.

Free Mini Course in Bargello Embroidery

On September 17th, the Guild will be leading a short class at the Forest Heights Library, on the technique of Bargello. Bargello is an easy embroidery technique to learn, made up of straight stitches on a grid-like fabric called canvas. If you’re interested in trying it out, we’d love to teach you! In the meantime, take a look at some of the work we currently have on display at the Forest Heights Library. Click on the photos to get a closer look.

You can register for the class on the KPL website’s event calendar:
http://kplca.evanced.info/signup/calendar.
Look for Embroidery Techniques with KW Embroiderers, on Saturday, September 17th, 2016. There is a class size limit of 8 people, so don’t wait too long to register. We hope to see you there!

Display at Stanley Park Library

In August, we had a stitch-in at Stanley Park, and had some of our work on display there. Here are some photos of the display.
